Bhaire Bhanwari

Why not the full Bhaire Bhanwari concert? Why are people so frugal in sharing the best music?  Ma'am (my friends know the connection) walks a new mile every day. Hats off to her. Would love to have a glimpse of her in concert again. It has been many years since the last one and I have grown very thirsty for her music. "Bhakthi in Music, to Music" - in its pristine form, flows through her to the world. What a manodharma! 

I used to think - Adi Sankara, Azhwars, Saint Ramanuja, Koorathazwan, Swami Chinmayananda, Swami Vivekananda - and so many saints and stalwarts walked on earth. But, why did I not have the blessing to be born in their time period or witness a great soul? With BJ, the feeling is complete and transcendental.  

I badly wanted to listen and immerse myself into this Bhaire Bhanwari after reading about it. Time hasn't come for it.

Tagore and Gandhi

I could not understand why historians have to compare Tagore and Gandhi. When I first read Gandhiji's works and literature on Gandhi, I instantly admired him and became a keen observer of some of his principles like ahimsa and simplicity. When I started reading Tagore's works, I instantly fell in love with him !!!! I was prompted to consume volumes of literature about Tagore. I had this compulsion to know every aspect of Tagore. I tried to read every piece of work and words that were ever told and written about him. He appeared to be the ideal person who was all that vedanta could convey. Indeed, I was stunned that he was the first person to be of that characteristics to have gained a place in both international arena and common man's hearts (apart from personalities who were branded as proper Saints like Swami Ramakrishna Paramahamsa , Swami Vivekananda, etc). These points were highlights of many discussions with different friends at different points in time - about singing, listening, about music and musicians in general. Didn't know how to make a coherent essay out of it. Since they were lingering on in the mind even after many months, felt like spilling the beans here.
